Living that Home Kiln Life!

Well I decided to bite the bullet and buy my own home kiln! I just couldn’t stand not being able to fire and finish my pieces anymore. It may have taken longer than usual to have it delivered, but it was worth it! This coupled with my desire to move from commercial glazes to mixing my own led to many, many, many, MANY tests before I could even begin to think about firing pieces that would eventually be sold. However, I am now through the fire (the first one, anyway) and ready to work on a small Etsy restock. It has been an exciting summer in pottery land! Stay tuned for Etsy restock information!

All Greenware, No Bisque

With public studios being closed, production of pieces have come grinding to a halt. But that doesn’t mean they’re not being made! Can’t wait to load up a kiln for the first time when we’re back. All sales are going to the purchasing of a home kiln to increase production!

Studio Assistants

No studio would be complete without their furry assistants who like to “help” (hinder).

Spending a lot of time in the home studio!

Looking for the silver lining in spending so much time at home is how much of that time I can spend in my home studio! I’m very lucky to have a wonderfully sunny space to create with storage shelves, glazing surfaces, and a pottery wheel. All my purchases are going directly toward purchasing my own kiln!
